Position Summary:

The Early Head Start (EHS) Teacher will work collaboratively to ensure the cognitive, social, and emotional growth of children. Responsibilities include implementing research-based curriculum, conducting home visits, and engaging with families to support children's development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide responsive care and effective teaching methods.
  • Create an enriching learning environment.
  • Plan activities using approved curriculum to support individual development.
  • Use assessment tools to monitor child development.
  • Collaborate with team members and external resources.
  • Support dual language learners and family involvement.
  • Utilize technology for educational purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing and quality standards.
  • Engage in continuous professional development.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Early Childhood education.
  • Ability to teach and assess children effectively.
  • Adherence to standards and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically active and able to conduct home visits.
  • Proficient in computer usage and data entry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Contingent Teacher: High School Diploma with early childhood experience.
  • Teacher: CDA or equivalent with focus on infant/toddler development.
  • Health and safety requirements must be met.
  • Background checks and references are mandatory.
